For a hot minute, it looked like the role was going to go to John C. Reilly but another big name has boarded the forever and neverending casting of "Hunger Games."

THR reveals that Woody Harrelson will take on the role of Haymitch Abernathy in the upcoming franchise film. Haymitch is a drunk who just also happens to be the only person from District 12—where Katniss Everdeen hails from—to have won at the Hunger Games. The mental and physical toll turned him to alcohol, but asked by Katniss and Peeta for help, he agrees to sober up and mentor them.

But that's not all. The day wouldn't be complete without some no name casting as well, so here you go: Dakota Hood and Jeremy Marinas are on board as the District 10 contestants. Hooray.

Harrelson joins Jennifer Lawrence, Elizabeth Banks, Josh Hutcherson, Liam Hemsworth, Wes Bentley, Stanley Tucci and whole bunch of other people in the movie that is still casting. Eventually, the movie will be shot and then released on March 23, 2012.

Can I see him playing a guy that could outsmart the system? Maybe... But whenever I see him I think of the stoner on the beach thing....
