While we'll have to wait see if the team behind "Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy" ever gets the sequel "Smiley's People" going, it looks like fans of John Le Carré have another adaptation to look forward to.

Features

It's been something of a banner year, both critically and commercially, for British film, with the likes of "The Inbetweeners Movie" and "Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy" tearing it up at the box office at home, while pictures like "Kill List," "Attack the Block," "We Need To Talk About Kevin" and "Shame" have won acclaim from critics at home and abroad. But with the changes in the industry coming from the scrapping of national funding body the UK Film Council last summer starting to take effect, we're at something of a pivot point -- the last of the Film Council-funded features are starting to roll out, and it remains to be seen what kind of effect the move of funding to the British Film Institute will have.

If you asked to us to find two talented people to get together to take on an adaptation of a Patricia Highsmith novel, we couldn't do much better than pairing Viggo Mortensen with "Drive" writer Hossein Amini. Well, it looks like that lightbulb went off in somebody's head because 24 Frames reports that's exactly what's happening, as the duo are developing a big screen take on "The Two Faces of January."

There are two ways through life, the way of nature and the way of grace. Or in Hollywood terms, there are two ways to release a movie: rushed on a tight schedule, or finely tuned with a more realistic production. The battle between Relativity and Universal over their respective Snow White films has been ugly, with the former trumping the latter by moving their Tarsem-directed film all the way up to a March 16, 2012 release date -- nine months from now and no, it hasn't started shooting yet. Universal's "Snow White And The Huntsman" is currently set just under a year away on June 1, 2012, with a comparably luxurious year to get it on screens. And it looks like they're going to use that time wisely.
