OK, don't push the panic button yet, but maybe a little bit of uh oh if you're a hardcore "Star Wars" fan and you demand to see "Star Wars: Episode VII" in theaters summer 2015 as "promised" (read: the intended, hopeful date—shit happens). And yes, because Disney/LucasFilm/Kathleen Kennedy and director J.J Abrams did not deign to reveal "Stars Wars: Episode VII" news at Comic-Con 2013 or at the D23 Expo in Anaheim, rumors have popped up for months saying 'Ep VII' wouldn't be ready for summer 2015.

Well, no matter where you stand on the prospect of "Star Wars: Episode 7," you have to admit this is at least a step in the right direction. The studio has found an Oscar winner to pen the treatment and possibly the screenplay for the upcoming sequel, and nerds and indie-cinema heads alike will approve.

Lionsgate’s “Hunger Games” sequel “Catching Fire” is now packing some new heat. According to the Hollywood Reporter, Michael Arndt, who won an Oscar for his screenplay for “Little Miss Sunshine” and more recently wrote “Toy Story 3,” is being brought onboard to polish the initial drafts that were written by “Slumdog Millionaire” and “127 Hours” writer Simon Beaufoy. “Catching Fire” is, of course, based on the second book in Suzanne Collins’ best-selling young adult series and the follow up to Gary Ross' runaway smash from earlier this year.

If he doesn’t have a key already, they might as well give him one because Michael Arndt—the Oscar winning writer of “Little Miss Sunshine” and one of the co-writers of “Toy Story 3” (that also earned him a nomination)—is going to be a fixture on the Disney lot for the next few years. This year the mouse house has been busy lining up projects for the man, tasking him with “Snow And The Seven” as well the ambitious, under wraps and currently untitled Pete Docter movie over at Pixar about the formation of ideas inside the human mind. Well, he’s lined up yet another gig.

Fresh off receiving an Oscar nomination for co-writing "Toy Story 3," Michael Arndt is onboard to take a run at the script for Disney's ambitious "Snow And The Seven." The project, which began to take shape in 2002, concerns Olivia Snow, a nineteenth century Englishwoman who returns to her colonial home in Hong Kong, where she finds her stepmother has murdered her father. Seeking revenge, she falls in with a band of seven international monks. It sounds like the whole project subsequently tries to cover every single demographic with some anachronistic grrl-power bull combined with wuxia sequences choreographed by Yuen Woon-Ping.
