10 Essential Cinematic AntiheroesIn the weirdest announcement yet for either entry in the franchise, Deadline reveals that current number one ranking tennis player in the world Novak Djokovic will be making a cameo as himself in "The Expendables 2." We can't wait to see how the script will write him in to a scene. The idea, which likely caused the writers on the film to abandon any hope they had of logic, was dreamt up by producer Avi Lerner, who we guess likes tennis, and then found a way he could he meet Djokovic. Even if he has to pay for it. Granted, Djokovic is a ham, and a great personality, making a memorable commerical for Head and earning more attention by doing impersonations of his fellow athletes as well. But how this makes his appearance in a dimwitted action movie fly, we're not quite sure.
Anyway, Djokovic will volley a grenade over Liam Hemsworth's head or something when the movie opens on August 17, 2012.

Iâm sure that a press release is imminent with an official announcement for the cast, plot, etc. Van Damme, Norris, Atkins and Hemsworth canât be the only new additions to the cast.

Agreed that this is way more ridiculous than everytime John McEnroe shows up as himself in various movies, but being a tennis lover it is right up my alley.
