10 Essential Cinematic Antiheroes
Directed by Roland Emmerich (obviously), the picture will co-star Jamie Foxx as POTUS and Maggie Gyllenhaal as the Secret Service boss in charge of John McClane Tatum, who also has a secret link to his past. We're guessing it's a romantic link, considering Tatum is a single Dad in this one. Anyway, HeyUGuys got their hands on the latest issue of EW which has these new looks at the movie, and yes, it looks like what an action movie set inside the White House would look like, though Tatum is a bit more John Rambo than we were expecting.
Co-starring Richard Jenkins, James Woods, Jason Clarke and more, "White House Down" arrives on June 29th, two months after the Gerard Butler starring rival project "Olympus Has Fallen" on April 5th. But who are you gonna bet on Tatum or Butler? Thought so...

Gerard Butler is a far better actor. He's done rom com to Shakespeare . Had great movies from the gentle Dear Frankie to the awesome 300. Machine Gun Preacher although it had shocking distribution was a truly Oscar worthy
Movie.
Let it Rock n Roll Gerry. Wages

Yeah, Butler. 1. He can act. 2. He's age appropriate 3. I can see him taking orders from Angela Bassett more than I can see Tatum-tot taking orders from Maggie Gyllenhaal. 4. This is really more about Antoine Fuqua vs Roland Emmerich. Both of them speak loudly and carry a big sledgehammer. We'll see.

Fuck the haters - this movie sounds awesome. I can't tell how much I miss these Die Hard, Air Force One, Executive Decision-type action movies. This sounds like '90s-esque fun. Plus, I don't care what anyone says - I will never hide how much I enjoy Roland Emmerich movies.

If every copy of every Roland Emmerich film ever made were destroyed, the world would be a better place.

Holy shit, so RIGHT AFTER his interview to join the secret service the White House is attacked? What are the odds? That's an insane coincidence.
