Pierce Brosnan: More Time For Art Lessons
Brosnan, unshackled at last from the stigma of James Bond The Reeler was very sad to hear that Pierce Brosnan will no longer be carrying the James Bond franchise's suave-ass mantle through future films. Rumors to this effect have circulated around New York for well over a year now, but Brosnan seems to be cool with it: His departure from the role was a "titanic jolt to the system," says Brosnan, followed by "a great sense of calm." And if 52-year-old Brosnan's inner peace is not enough of a silver lining for you, today's news also calls attention to the actor's Web site—a delightfully self-serving pastiche of artifacts and aggrandizement that may forever redefine the standard for celebrity navel-gazing. Did you know that Brosnan "commands respect as one of the film world's most varied, adventurous and skilled dramatic actors"? Or that he is an "accomplished artist"? If you do not believe him, ask him. Or his wife. Or just check out his gallery to judge a master at work. Nope, no shackles for Brosnan. Just stunning work like Mr. Matisse at Bedtime & His Mom and the awe-inspiring Self-Fish (right). Seriously--fuck James Bond. This is where it is at.
