Choosy Moms Choose Intimidation, Entrepreneurship

Hide the Cup-A-Soup! Hide it! She's coming!

The filmmaker Gwyneth Paltrow is back in the "news" today, with Lloyd Grove sharing the story of how Girl-Power Gwynnie reportedly went food-snob on the Brooklyn set of her short film, Dealbreakers:

During a recent location shoot … the Oscar-winning actress couldn't mask her disgust when she spied a box of instant soup on the set.

"Who eats this stuff?" she demanded.

When a production staffer admitted that his children love it, Paltrow responded icily: "I would rather die than let my kid eat Cup-A-Soup."

Just a few months ago, Paltrow insisted that she would let her 14-month-old daughter with Coldplay frontman Chris Martin eat as she pleased - just not yet.

And almost as if on cue, Ananova passes along the news that another choosy Mom—Elizabeth Hurley—is evidently following up her triumphant swimwear collection with an equally stylish, slimming line of baby food:

The new brand has apparently been inspired by (Hurley's) three-year-old son Damian.

She said: "I found all I wanted to do was give him perfect, unadulterated food.

"It would be wonderful to come up with good, maybe even convenience,[?] food which is really healthy, low-calorie, organic and delicious."

Yes, Liz—because infants should only throw, drop, spill, slobber, burp up and incessantly crap the *best*.
