Corbijn Leaves Movies Home, Catches Up with Bono and Edge in Chelsea
When they were young and earnest: The Edge, Anton Corbijn and Bono remember the '80s at the Stellan Holm Gallery (Photo: STV) The good news Sunday evening at Chelsea's Stellan Holm Gallery was that U2's Bono and The Edge showed up to mug with photographer/filmmaker Anton Corbijn. But that kind of turned out to be the bad news as well, as the gallery's tastefully arranged, week-long Corbijn/U2 retrospective went relatively unnoticed in the crush of press and fans gathered to bow at the altar of The worse news was that The Reeler never got a chance to follow up with Corbijn on the hotly debated subject of Control, the Ian Curtis biopic that we hear Corbijn might be planning to shoot with genius DP Christopher Doyle. Things got a little crazy, and Depeche Mode's Dave Gahan was waiting for us in the back. You know how that goes. I am terribly sorry for the letdown--next time, for sure.
