Eeek! I almost forgot to mention tonight's Undiscovered Gems Series launch at IFC Center. You might have heard the backstory: The lovely folks at the indieWIRE mother ship joined forces with Emerging Pictures to spotlight a week's worth of 2004's best undistributed indies in theaters around the country. Opening night in NYC features David Flamholc's House of the Tiger King (right), followed by a director Q&A and an afterparty sponsored by Dewars.

And why shouldn't we drink to this? Well-made, underrepresented films getting the national audience they deserve? This is me, praising Jesus. Anyway, the series runs through Nov. 15, so pace yourself, kids. Drop in when you can.
