Do not say you never saw this one coming: Retired Variety gossip Army Archerd is now officially a semi-retired blogger. I only write "officially" because deep down, I saw the Variety higher-ups working as soon as they dropped that classic reference in their infamous quasi-obituary Happy Retirement piece last summer. Remember? The one that said Archerd might be "Hollywood's first blogger"?

In actuality, he is now Hollywood's 34,192nd blogger, but who is counting? You just have to know by that point the domain hunt was on and it was just a matter of waiting for the broadband hook-up:

As always, it will be true--my take or my report on what others have told me or done. I'll tell you where I've been, what I've seen and heard, yes, even tasted--and what I think of it all. This is not such a change for me--I've really been doing this all of my career and have spoken out when speaking out is called for.
