Herzog Times Two: My Son, My Son Opens December 11

Thompson on Hollywood

David Lynch and Industrial Entertainment will release writer-director Werner Herzog’s My Son, My Son, What Have Ye Done, which played Venice, Telluride and Toronto, on December 11 at the IFC Center in New York. Other cities will follow.

Somewhat overshadowed by the other Herzog movie coming up this month, Bad Lieutenant: Port of Call New Orleans, My Son, My Son is executive produced by Lynch. It’s the first non-Lynch film to be released by his distribution company Absurda. (The other films were Lynch’s Inland Empire, the documentary Lynch One and his cult midnight movie Eraserhead.)

This strange drama about a man acting out an ancient Sophocles play stars Chloe Sevingy, Michael Shannon and Antichrist star Willem Dafoe.
