Trost Brothers' 'The FP' Premiering February 25 at Cinefamily; Drafthouse to Widen Release March 16

Alamo's Drafthouse Films will release "The FP" on March 16, following a February 25 red carpet premiere at Los Angeles' Cinefamily's Silent Movie Theater. "The FP" is a "ferocious nod to big-budget studio action fare and underdog sports dramas of the 1980s.

It may go down as one of the oddest double-bills in Sundance history. Prior to the premiere of Karin Hayes’ and Victoria Bruce’s earnest and timely documentary about the broken corporate tax system in the U.S., “We’re Not Broke,” Sundance programmers chose to show a short subject documentary entitled, “The Debutante Hunters.”

Will Relativity/Hasbro 'Stretch Armstrong' Ever Get Made?

Earlier in January, Hasbro was in talks with JP Morgan to get a financial boost toward becoming a rival to Disney's Marvel comics arm. News now drops that Hasbro is teaming with Relativity Media to produce a live-action "Stretch Armstrong" film, set to land in theaters in April 2014. Universal, Taylor Lautner, director Rob Letterman and producer Imagine Entertainment -- all of whom were once attached -- are no longer in the mix.

In The Works: 'Rampart' Pair Harrelson and Moverman Hint at Manhattan Murder Mystery

Making "Rampart," Woody Harrelson's second collaboration with director Oren Moverman after his Oscar-nominated "The Messenger," wasn't exactly a smooth ride. Harrelson tells Screen Daily that after seeing the first cut of the film, he hated it (despite thinking it was "the best script I had ever read" and "the best part I had ever been offered"); "I thought Oren had lost his vision. I didn’t want to go to Toronto and do interviews.” He was back on board after a subsequent cut. Harrelson says of becoming rogue cop Dave Brown, whose primary emotion is paranoia, "I invited that fucker in and it’s still wreaking havoc.”
