Robert Iger Picks Ex-Warners Chief Alan Horn to Run Disney Studio; Sharp Choice

Sundance Selects Picks Up Mulloy's Cuban-Set Tribeca Winner 'Una Noche'

Lucy Mulloy's "Una Noche" has gone to Sundance Selects for North American distribution. The film debuted at Berlin, then Tribeca where it won Best New Narrative Director, Best Cinematography in a Narrative Feature and Best Actor in a Narrative Feature for stars Dariel Arrechada and Javier Nuñez Florian. The film follows three Cuban teens (Anailin de la Rua de la Torre also stars) over the course of a day, highlighting the contrast between their poverty-stricken lives and tourists who visit.

Actors' Emmy Race Competition Stiffen: Lead & Supporting Categories Combined

The primetime Emmy Awards have amended their longform acting category to combine both lead and supporting performances into one category. Instead of five nominations each for both lead and supporting roles in the actors' and actress' competitions, a total of six men and six women will be singled out for their work in a TV miniseries. This change will not effect this year's contenders, but will go into effect in 2013.

DreamWorks Pares Exec Ranks, Makes Sourian Producer, Bario Single Production Chief

As DreamWorks Studios streamlines into a smaller entity, it has no room for two top-level expensive production presidents. Thus the Reliance-backed company, which is run by Steven Spielberg and Stacy Snider, and distributes through Disney, has given Mark Sourian a first-look production deal.
