Janus Films Nabs Paolo Sorrentino's Palme d'Or Nominee 'The Great Beauty' (TRAILER)

Janus Films has picked up all U.S. rights to Italian director Paolo Sorrentino's "The Great Beauty" ("La Grande Bellezza"), nominated for the Palme d'Or at Cannes 2013. The film screens at TIFF in September. Check out the Italian trailer and synopsis below.

Casting Watch: Rooney Mara Replaces Mia Wasikowska in Todd Haynes' 'Carol,' Starring Cate Blanchett UPDATED

UPDATE: Rooney Mara will play one of two leads in Todd Haynes' "Carol," adapted from Patricia Highsmith's landmark lesbian novella "The Price of Salt." Cate Blanchett is set to play the title role, while Mara will play Therese Belivet, an aspiring set designer who falls for the elegant and older Carol. Mia Wasikowska was previously attached to the role of Therese.

Venice Film Festival 2013 Review: 'Tracks,' Starring Mia Wasikowska

On the heels of Venice's opening-night film "Gravity" comes another dramatic tale of female isolation and empowerment in one of the most inhospitable environments imaginable. Adapted from Robyn Davidson's memoir of the same name, "Tracks" is a vastly engaging chronicle of the author's 1700-mile journey across the Australian Outback in 1977 with her dog Diggity, four ornery camels and infinite clouds of dust, beginning in Alice Springs and ending at the Indian Ocean.

Zeitgeist Films Acquires Murder Mystery Doc 'The Galapagos Affair' Ahead of Telluride Premiere

In a preemptive move, Zeitgeist Films has picked up all US rights to the murder mystery documentary "The Galapagos Affair: Satan Came to Eden" ahead of its premiere at Telluride this week. Directed by Daniel Geller and Dayna Goldfine, the film centers on a 1930s unsolved murder mystery in the Galapagos islands.
