Even while it was officially closed for the holiday until January 2, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, recognizing the continuing problems many of its members have been having with the new online voting procedures, has extended the deadline for members to vote for Oscar nominations by one day to Friday, January 4, 2013, 5.p.m. PT. (The original date was Thursday, January 3, 5 p.m. PT).
