The Academy has launched a new song-and-dance Oscars trailer directed by Paul Feig. In the clip, host Ellen DeGeneres leads a pack of 250 tuxedo-clad men and women set to the tune of "The Walker" by indie pop band Fitz and The Tantrums.
In the accompanying making-of featurette, also below, DeGeneres cracks that the promo is her thinly veiled bid at a role in "Bridesmaids 2."
The video promises a more outlandishly entertaining Academy Awards ceremony to come, as produced by Craig Zadan and Neil Meron, who the Academy brought back on after the high ratings of last year's Seth MacFarlane-hosted show. Meron and Zadan recently produced the surprise NBC hit "The Sound of Music Live!" Expect that kind of musical dazzle at this year's Academy Awards from Meron and Zadan, the two halves of Storyline Entertainment.
DeGeneres' stint as emcee at the 79th Academy Awards in 2007 was a delight--the trailer, below, suggests we'll be seeing more of her class-act brand of comedy at the Oscars on Sunday, March 2. The Academy revamp continues with their new logo, which you can check out in a cool video below.
