Yesterday afternoon, hell-raising feminist blog Jezebel offered $10,000 for un-Photoshopped pics from Annie Leibovitz's Vogue cover shoot of HBO "Girls" creator Lena Dunham. Within two hours, they got their way, but now Dunham has chimed in.

Venice Film Festival 2013 Review: 'Tracks,' Starring Mia Wasikowska

On the heels of Venice's opening-night film "Gravity" comes another dramatic tale of female isolation and empowerment in one of the most inhospitable environments imaginable. Adapted from Robyn Davidson's memoir of the same name, "Tracks" is a vastly engaging chronicle of the author's 1700-mile journey across the Australian Outback in 1977 with her dog Diggity, four ornery camels and infinite clouds of dust, beginning in Alice Springs and ending at the Indian Ocean.

Watch: Lena Dunham Directs Short Film 'Best Friends' for Designer Rachel Antonoff

The second season of "Girls" may have just ended, but Lena Dunham has yet to take a breath. The ever-productive writer/director/actress just released a new short film promoting New York designer Rachel Antonoff's Fall 2013 line. She's the sister of Dunham's boyfriend Jack Antonoff, guitarist for the Grammy-winning band Fun. (The NYT's power sibling profile is here.)

'Girls' Recap 10: Saving the Worst for Last

If last week’s episode dealt with body horror (ass splinters! lodged Q-tips!), this week’s episode deals with the horror of finishing things. Hannah struggles -- but not too hard -- with wrapping up her barely inchoate manuscript, while “Girls” struggles with capping off its second season in a coherent, consistent fashion. It fails.

'Girls' Recap 8: OCD and AA in an Episode That's All Over the Place

“It’s Back” works hard to juggle four different storylines. Two are successful, and two are cringe-inducingly out of left field.

'Girls' Recap 6: The 'Boys' Aren't in Kansas Anymore, Toto

One of the things I’ve admired about this season of “Girls” is that it has no obligation to regularly check in with each of the four “leads” of the show. Instead, certain characters are more central in certain episodes, in an organic way, while supporting characters are given a surprising amount of interiority.
