Bruce Willis, Armie Hammer, Helen Mirren and More to Toast Jerry Bruckheimer at American Cinematheque Gala

The American Cinematheque has revealed the presenters for its Jerry Bruckheimer tribute, taking place December 12 at the Beverly Hills Hilton. As the 27th recipient of the Cinematheque Award, which functions as a mid-career honor, Bruckheimer will be toasted and lightly roasted by friends and colleagues at the Cinematheque’s annual benefit gala. It's no surprise that the mighty Bruckheimer, who is moving his producing deal from Disney to Paramount, has lined up an all-star list of presenters, below.

Principal photography will get underway in the UK September 9 on Guy Ritchie's latest, "Man from U.N.C.L.E.," which brings CIA agent Napoleon Solo and KGB agent Ilya Kuryakin of the popular 1960s TV series to the big screen. The film stars beefy Brit Henry Cavill (aka Superman) as Solo and Armie Hammer (aka the Lone Ranger) as Kuryakin.

Can Runaway Western 'The Lone Ranger' Make Its Money Back? Review and Round-Up

The scuttle from the set of the prodigiously expensive "The Lone Ranger," the latest movie from the producer, writers and director behind the lucrative "Pirates of the Caribbean" series, was that Gore Verbinski was yet another runaway director run amok, not unlike Michael Cimino on "Heaven's Gate," lavishing millions of dollars on building two working 250-ton 19th-century style trains (hydraulic, not steam) to run on a five-mile oval track with a stretch of double tracks, among other things.

WATCH: Armie Hammer Rides, Shoots and Lassos at Cowboy Bootcamp in 'Lone Ranger' Featurette

Check out this new featurette for Gore Verbinski's "The Lone Ranger" (July 3), which features star Armie Hammer at "cowboy bootcamp," learning -- a bit shakily -- to ride horses, lasso chairs and shoot pistols.

WATCH: Armie Hammer Faces 2,000-Foot Drop in 'Lone Ranger' Featurette

Check out this new production featurette on Gore Verbinski's upcoming "The Lone Ranger," in which star Armie Hammer nervously confronts a 2,000-foot drop while filming a key scene in the canyons of Moab, Utah. In case you think any of the sequence is green-screened, Verbinski's faux-baffled response says it all: "Computer-generated what?"

WATCH: New 'Lone Ranger' Trailer, Starring Depp and Hammer -- 'If These Men Represent the Law, I'd Rather Be an Outlaw'

Check out the new trailer for Gore Verbinski's "The Lone Ranger," starring Armie Hammer as the title character and Johnny Depp as his partner in outlaw shenanigans, Tonto. This fourth trailer for the film continues to emphasize Verbinski's kooky visual style (sort of like a live-action "Rango," for which he won an Oscar), while also ramping up the mile-a-minute action. Helena Bonham Carter makes an appearance with a miniature rifle spitting bullets out of her shoe. Watch below.

CinemaCon: Disney Showcases Mighty Labels, 'Lone Ranger' Trailer and Q & A Live Stream, 'Monsters U' (VIDEO)

It's hard not to be impressed with the Disney empire that Bob Iger has assembled at the movie studio. It's a label strategy that assumes that if you buy the best and the brightest properties and manage them well you will come out ahead--from John Lasseter's Pixar and Ike Permutter's Marvel to Steven Spielberg's DreamWorks and Kathleen Kennedy's Lucasfilm. At the CinemaCon Disney presentation, new studio chief Alan Horn, who took over the Disney reins from ousted rookie Rick Ross, was well-known to the exhibitors, as he had been the warm and genial head of Warner Bros. for 11 years. He started out, rather oddly, stating his support of the long windows status quo, given boss Iger's known desire to squash ancillary windows and other studios' hard work behind the scenes to push back on this issue.

Watch: Johnny Depp in Eye Liner in 'The Lone Ranger' Trailer

One glance at this trailer for "The Lone Ranger" (July 3, 2013) and there's no need to announce that the remake comes from the filmmaking team behind "Pirates of the Caribbean." Per usual these days, Johnny Depp is in heavy character makeup as the brave and brilliant fool to his stalwart fair-haired companion (Armie Hammer).

Casting Watch: Who's Up for Finnick Odair in 'Catching Fire'? Only One Fits the Bill

I just fnished reading "Mockingjay," the third and final "Hunger Games" installment. Fair to say, the plot thickens and the action gets even more intense in "Catching Fire" and "Mockingjay" as Katniss Everdeen and her two rival swains Gale and Peeta go through several rings of fire.
