Tim Burton Could Be Back on Track With Artist Biopic 'Big Eyes,' Starring Amy Adams and Christoph Waltz

Tim Burton is on board to direct his next film, "Big Eyes," which will star Christoph Waltz and Amy Adams as Margaret and Walter Keane, whose paintings of big-eyed children were a mass-market phenomenon in the 1950s and '60s. Burton himself uses a similar big, dark-eyed aesthetic in both his animated films and the makeup design in his live-action films.

Immersed in Movies: Exclusive Early Peek at Blue Sky's Star-Studded 'Epic' -- 'Avatar' Meets 'Gladiator'

Blue Sky founder and director Chris Wedge recently gave a sneak peek of his latest animated feature, "Epic" (May 24), at Fox (you can view the new trailer below). It's certainly no "FernGully," and it's a far cry from "Ice Age" and everything else Blue Sky has ever made. It's more like "Avatar" meets "Gladiator," if you had to pin it down.

Awards Watch: Christoph Waltz Kills on SNL, Jacki Weaver on NPR, Ang Lee on Nightline

In the final phase of the Oscar campaign, Christoph Waltz twinkled on SNL last night, in one of the best episodes of the season. Nominated for Best Supporting Actor for "Django Unchained," Waltz's best sketch of the evening was a send up of Tarantino's "revenge fantasy" with "Djesus Uncrossed." With a million dollar grin on his face, the Austrian actor teased his country a bit in the opening monologue - posted below along with "Djesus."

'Django Unchained' Beats 'Inglourious Basterds' as Tarantino's Top Grossing Film

"Django Unchained" has become director Quentin Tarantino's highest grossing film to date within the domestic market, having accumulated nearly $130 million sinces its Christmas day release. Tarantino's second-highest grossing film is 2009's "Inglourious Basterds," with $120.5 million.

Hackford Grills Tarantino on 'Django Unchained': Style, Score, Script Adds, KKK Scene; "it was my 'fuck you' to D.W. Griffith"

'Django Unchained' Needed More Time; Review and Roundup

So far the critics are being kind to Quentin Tarantino's bloody Western-down-South, singing the praises of the film's stellar cast and its fierce yet disturbingly funny confrontation with the most shameful chapter of American history.
