Sundance Deal: Sony Pictures Classics Nabs 'Kill Your Darlings,' Starring Daniel Radcliffe as Young Allen Ginsberg

Sony Pictures Classics has acquired all U.S., Australian, New Zealand, South African, African TV and Eastern European rights to John Krokidas' debut feature "Kill Your Darlings," which stars Daniel Radcliffe as Allen Ginsberg and is a dramatic competition feature at the Sundance Film Festival.

Sundance Review Roundup: 'Kill Your Darlings'

Critics are praising John Krokidas' "Kill Your Darlings," starring Daniel Radcliffe as Allen Ginsberg. The film, which is edgier and more engaging than Walter Salles' faithfully literary "On the Road," is being called an unusually successful portrait of the Beat generation, "a genuine attempt to source the beginning of America's first true literary counterculture."

Check out the trailer for UK series "A Young Doctor's Notebook," Sky Arts 1 Channel's new miniseries starring Jon Hamm and Daniel Radcliffe. The four-part show is based on the short stories of Russian playwright Mikhail Bulgakov: a doctor (Hamm) struggles through his life and work through exchanges with his younger self (Radcliffe). It debuts December 6 in the UK.

IN THE WORKS: Lionsgate adds 'Catching Fire' Cast, Seeks New Director for 'Mockingjay'; Depp Joins Anderson; Radcliffe & Kazan Say Yes to 'F Word'

Amanda Plummer ("Pulp Fiction," "The Fisher King") is signing on to play Wiress in "Catching Fire." This follows the announcement of Philip Seymour Hoffman as Plutarch Heavensbee and Jena Malone as Johanna in "The Hunger Games" sequel with Jennifer Lawrence and new director Francis Lawrence. Lionsgate is rushing the film to shoot this fall for a November 22, 2013 release.
