Costumes are Earthy, Intricate, and Architectural for "Snow White and the Huntsman"

Fact is, we have fairy tale fatigue. But something about "Snow White and the Huntsman" did catch our eye: its gorgeous, haunting costumes. The trailer for Rupert Sanders' upcoming translation of the Grimm's story shows earthy, exquisite, architectural clothing. The credit goes to Oscar-winning costume designer Colleen Atwood.

Cannes Market: Cassavetes Goes Gritty for Kristen Stewart's 'Cali'; Plot Revolves Around Faux Snuff Film

Nick Cassavetes, known best for delivering one of the greatest chick flicks ever -- "The Notebook" -- is back to some grittier material; the "Alpha Dog" director is set to helm "Cali," reports Variety. Kristen Stewart will star (and co-exec produce) as one of a pair of lovebirds (the other half is yet to be cast) who sell a fake snuff film and escape the San Fernando Valley with the cash. But then the girl must "return from the dead" in order to save her younger sister from the life she abandoned. Michael Diliberti wrote the script. Voltage Productions and New School Media are producing with their eye on a late summer start, assuming the Cannes market is agreeable for the project. With Stewart attached, it will be.

Bill Condon Talks Twilight: Breaking Dawn, Stewart and Pattinson Grow Up, 2-D vs. 3-D

At the "Twilight: Breaking Dawn -Part One" premiere Monday night in downtown Los Angeles, Summit put the ensemble led by Kristen Stewart, Rob Pattinson and Taylor Lautner through the usual endless labyrinthine gauntlet of fans and global media, all broadcast inside the huge fan-packed Nokia Theater. When the stars finally arrived inside the house, ripples of screaming began and continued throughout the movie--screams when any of the lead trio remove their clothes, or kiss, or make love. Before the overscaled rooftop after party for 2700 guests (complete with sets of the honeymoon and wedding), the "Twilight" cast flew off to the London premiere.

Early Reviews: Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part One; Marriage, Sex, Pregnancy, Vampire, Bill Condon Talks

At Comic-Con, "Dreamgirls" director Bill Condon talked about how he approached "Twilight: Breaking Dawn (November 18), which I will see at Monday's premiere. Condon had been eager to direct a horror movie, and landed the finale to this mother of all horror epics, which he and Summit agreed to break into two parts, "Harry Potter"-style. "It's all third act, which does make it easy," he says, "and scary too, there are some pretty crazy things." The film wound up earning a PG-13 rating after trims of a scene where Bella and Edward have sex for the first time, which features some nudity, and when she gives birth to their baby, with blood flying around the room.

Snow White and the Huntsman Gets New Imagery, Loses Its Edge

It was bound to happen. Two Snow White projects have been defining themselves as special and unique--until commercial reality hits. Relativity's project finallly has a title - Mirror Mirror - and places stars Julia Roberts, Lily Collins and Armie Hammer in a comedy/adventure kid-friendly version of the classic tale (here are pictures). Universal's Snow White and the Huntsman has been declaring itself a more badass rendition, with an edgy Kristen Stewart wearing armor, battling against Charlize Theron, and Chris Hemsworth there to flex his muscles. With this new imagery, it looks like the facade is beginning to fall leaving Huntsman looking like it's only a teen-friendly step above Mirror.

Brothers Grimm: Snow White Stills Diminish Hope in Relativity's Family Flick

The more we learn about Relativity's The Brothers Grimm: Snow White, the less excited we become. This "family friendly" take on Snow White (with Julia Roberts, Lily Collins, Armie Hammer), versus Universal's edgier (or so they want us to think). The Brothers Grimm: Snow White, is directed by Tarsem Singh, and will be first out of the gate on March 16, 2012. Rupert Sanders' Snow White and the Huntsman (with Charlize Theron, Kristen Stewart, Chris Hemsworth) is in theaters July 1.
