UPDATE: The first image has arrived from Rob Marshall's adaptation of Sondheim's "Into the Woods." As first looks go, this is a great one: Meryl Streep as The Witch, with claws and all, who wishes to reverse a curse so that her beauty can be restored.

Trailer Watch: Meryl Streep and Julia Roberts Go Toe-to-Toe in Weinstein Entry 'August: Osage County'

Check out the first trailer for "August: Osage County," starring heavyhitters Meryl Streep and Julia Roberts in John Wells' adaptation of Tracy Letts' Pulitzer Prize-winning play. The Weinstein film hits theaters on November 8 and, needless to say, is a likely Oscar contender. (Harvey Weinstein is expected to introduce some material on the film at a press preview in Cannes.)

The Brazilian director of photography has shot Robert Redford as a former '70s Weather Underground radical on the run in "The Company You Keep," as well as Meryl Streep as the dysfunctional Midwestern matriarch in the upcoming adaptation of Tracy Letts' Pulitzer Prize-winning play, "August: Osage County" (November 8).

Weinstein Lines Up Oscar Slate, First Reactions to 'August: Osage County,' Starring Streep

First reactions are coming in for the Weinsteins' "August: Osage County," an adaptation of Tracy Letts' Pulitzer Prize-winning play with director John Wells at the helm. TWC production exec Ben Famiglietti told Harvey Weinstein that the 190-page play was "the best writing ever out of Chicago," Weinstein recalled at a Sundance panel. "It was amazing, we invested in the play, which means getting movie rights. It stars Meryl Streep and Julia Roberts, is produced by George Clooney and Grant Heslov."

'Broken,' 'Sightseers,' Berberian Sound Studio' Lead 15th British Independent Film Award Nominations

The nominations for the 15th annual Mo√ęt British Independent Film Awards were announced today and leading the pack with nine nominations is "Broken," which scored nods for Best Film, Best Director and Best Debut Director for Rufus Norris, Best Actor for Tim Roth and two Best Supporting Actor nominations for Cillian Murphy and Rory Kinnear.
