A clever "Man of Steel" (June 14) viral campaign this weekend (which included the use of L.A. billboards) has culminated on the movie’s site with a static video message from General Zod (Michael Shannon) that begins: “You Are Not Alone.”

Eat, Drink and Be Merry: Food, Wine and Film at Sonoma International Film Festival, Liotta Talks 'Iceman'

As Sonoma Film Festival Director Kevin McNeely says when ebulliently introducing opener "Iceman," 80% of the films in the festival have filmmakers in attendance: "Why wouldn't they want to come to Sonoma? They're certainly going to get enough to eat and drink!" He introduces the mayor of Sonoma, Ken Brown, who is wearing a black Netflix t-shirt, black pants, and has a braided ponytail down his back: he looks like an aging grad student, except an aging grad student would probably be wearing shoes. "We love that you spend money," he says candidly to the audience.

Michael Shannon Kills in New 'The Iceman' Trailer

Check out the new trailer for Michael Shannon's "The Iceman," from director Ariel Vromen. In a narrative inspired by true events, Shannon plays a notorious contract killer, Richard Kuklinski, whose life appears to be the American dream, despite the fact he has killed over 100 men for the mob.

Venice Trailer: 'The Iceman' Stars Michael Shannon, Winona Ryder, and Many Gunshots

"The Iceman" stars Academy Award nominee Michael Shannon ("Revolutionary Road," "Boardwalk Empire") as a notorious hit man - responsible for the death of 100 men associated with different crime rings around New York. While his career provides the action, his split from his family life provides the drama: the devoted father and husband managed to keep his career a secret from his wife (Winona Ryder) and children over the decades he acted as a brutal mercenary.
