First Image from Herzog’s ‘Queen of the Desert’ Arrives as Director’s Films Stream on Fandor

Ubiquitous as always, there’s a whole lot more of Werner Herzog coming our way over the next few months. The upcoming 16-film Blu-ray set, arriving at the end of this month, would normally be plenty, but there's also his first narrative feature since 2009: "Queen of the Desert."

The critics have spoken. Following the September 5 London premiere of Oliver Hirschbiegel's "Diana," starring Naomi Watts, negative reviews haranguing the biopic arrived. What was once thought to be an Oscar hopeful for long-overdue Aussie actress Watts has now been derided as a "squirmingly embarrassing," "cheap and chearless effort." Oy.

The first teaser trailer for Oliver Hirschbiegel's "Diana," starring Naomi Watts as Princess Diana, has landed. The film follows the last two years of Diana's life, charting her various romances and her evolution into a major international campaigner and humanitarian. Entertainment One has picked up the distribution rights, and plans an Oscar season release later this year. Watch below.

Naomi Watts Nabs Achievement Award at Palm Springs Film Fest

The Palm Springs International Film Festival (January 3-14) will honor Naomi Watts with the Desert Palm Achievement Actress Award on January 5. Watts has a history with the fest, which previously honored her Oscar-nominated performance in "21 Grams" in 2003.
