Can Cruise and Universal Make Kosinski's Sci-Fi 'Oblivion' a Global Hit? Review and Roundup

Tom Cruise went overboard praising Universal execs at the premiere for Joseph Kosinski's "Oblivion" (April 19). "I've been doing this a few years now," he told the Dolby Theater crowd. "Making films today, it takes a village, as artists it's about problem solving." 'To the Wonder' Q & A: Olga Kurylenko on Goosebumps, Bruises, Malick and Affleck Fights on Cutting Room Floor

Olga Kurylenko got goosebumps in her first audition for Terrence Malick. It wasn't simply that the reclusive auteur was considering her for a leading role in "To The Wonder". Having flown out to meet him at his Austin, Texas base, she also marveled at Malick's uncanny intuition. "I felt almost a telepathic connection," insists the 33-year-old Ukraine-born actress, who burst onto the scene as a Bond girl in 2008's "Quantum Of Solace." "From the questions he was asking me and the things he was saying to me, he seemed to know everything about me and my past."

In the absence of Terrence Malick (naturally…), Ben Affleck, Javier Bardem and Rachel McAdams, it was left to Olga Kurylenko to fly the flag for "To The Wonder" at the film's Venice press conference, alongside producers Sarah Green and Nicolas Gonda and Italian co-star Romina Mondello.
