Robert Downey Jr, Jennifer Lawrence, Leonardo DiCaprio and Sandra Bullock Top Vulture's 100 Most Valuable Stars of 2013

Vulture has released its annual list of the "100 Most Valuable Stars," using a proprietary algorithm that takes into account factors like box office, media coverage, Twitter chatter (newly added in 2013), reviews and knowledge from a tribunal of studio execs. Robert Downey Jr. has nabbed the top spot for a second year in a row. Check out the other names in the top ten, below.

Immersed in Movies: Shane Black and Kevin Feige Talk Going Over the Edge in 'Iron Man 3,' Stark's Demons, VFX

With "Iron Man 3" already smashing box-office records internationally ahead of its domestic release Friday, grabbing more than $300 million in nine days (including the highest opening ever in China), Marvel's post-"Avengers" Phase 2 plan is off to a smashing start. The trick apparently was giving Robert Downey Jr.'s Tony Stark an existential crisis, and no one was better suited to the task than director Shane Black, who, like Downey, knows a thing or two about confronting personal demons, which is what "Iron Man 3" is all about.

Marvel isn't missing a promo trick, nor is the ever-youth-audience-chasing Oscar telecast. "The Avengers" cast members Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Samuel L. Jackson, Jeremy Renner and Mark Ruffalo will present on-stage at the Oscars on February 24.

In The Works: Scorsese Producing Rolls Royce Love Story; Roach, Downey Jr. & Cruise Wanted for 'El Presidente'

Jay Roach ("Game Change," "The Campaign") is in negotiations to direct "El Presidente," from "Parks and Recreation" writer Dan Goor. The Warner Bros. comedy follows an overzealous secret service agent who is relegated to guarding America's worst former president. The plan is to offer Tom Cruise the role of the agent, and Robert Downey Jr. the role of the sleazy ex-president. Vulture has the scoop.
