Comic-Con's Marvel Panel Stars 'Thor''s Loki, 'Captain America''s Evans & Johansson (VIDEOS)

Nobody understands the Comic-Con demo better than Marvel production chief Kevin Feige, who knows how to create material that will please these fans. In Hall H you can see that he gets it. He's giving them what they want. He's not shoving something down their throat with scads of advertising dollars, not wowing them with a great VFX trailer. He's bringing to life beloved characters who exist inside a well-considered consistent universe. So when Tom Hiddleston turns up in full Loki regalia and exhorts "the arena that is known as Hall H" to become his army--"where are your Avengers now?"--the crowd ate it up (see that video and all the panel videos below).

Joseph Gordon-Levitt Cut Graphic Porn from Directorial Debut 'Don Jon' to Get R Rating

Joseph Gordon-Levitt's feature directorial debut "Don Jon" -- the film formerly known as "Don Jon's Addiction" -- whipped up a stir at Sundance with its graphic depiction of porn addiction in New Jersey. "The Sundance cut was us pushing it past where it really ought to be, and I think it was sort of distracting for audiences," Gordon-Levitt said at CinemaCon in Las Vegas.

'Captain America: The Winter Soldier' Goes Into Production, Starring Evans, Johansson, Jackson and Robert Redford

As expected, Marvel has wasted no time ramping up production on "Captain America: The Winter Soldier," which is now underway in Los Angeles. Chris Evans is back as the beefy, star-spangled Captain, with Scarlett Johansson and Samuel L. Jackson on board as ubiquitous Avengers Black Widow and Nick Fury. Additionally, film icon Robert Redford is playing Agent Alexander Pierce.

Johansson, Hopkins & D'Arcy in New Retro Images of Gervasi's 'Hitchcock'

A pleasingly retro spread features new images from Sacha Gervasi's potential Oscar contender "Hitchcock" (November 23) in the current issue of People Magazine. James D'Arcy is a dead ringer for Anthony Perkins, while a coiffed Scarlett Johannson channels Janet Leigh.

'The Avengers': Who Comes Out Ahead? Everyone. Almost.

When I finally saw "Marvel's The Avengers" Sunday in murky 3-D at Loew's 83rd Street Cinema in Manhattan, like everyone else in the theater, I had a roaring good time.

Career Watch: Scarlett Johansson, Beyond the Black Bodysuit

Scarlett Johansson's role as Black Widow in "The Avengers" would be unnecessary if the superhero rulebook didn't require at least one buxom babe in black spandex. Thus secret agent Johansson plays a distant fiddle to Chris Hemsworth, Mark Ruffalo, Chris Evans et al's super-human powers. Although her assassin has no superpower--other than outsmarting, interrogating and shooting and beating people to death ("looking puzzled or confused")--thanks to Joss Whedon's box office hit, attention is back on Johansson the kick-ass action babe rather than Johansson the nude-photo-hacking-scandal babe. But is Black Widow the best Johansson can do?

'It's Still About Nudity': VF's Marilyn Monroe Nude Outtakes, GQ's Interview with 'The Man Who Hacked Hollywood'

Marilyn Monroe is the gift that keeps on giving. Vanity Fair's June issue features outtakes from her last photo-shoot. Photographer Lawrence Schiller (aka Larry Wolf) was to take nude photos of the star (in the pool with a suit, out of it naked) and guarantee that they would appear on magazine covers that made no mention of Elizabeth Taylor...

Review Round-Up: 'Marvel's The Avengers': The Best Super Hero Movie Of All Time?

Stakes and anticipation were high for "Marvel's The Avengers," which finally brings together a half dozen superheroes. The take-home message from most reviewers is that the super hero mash-up more than met expectations--it set the bar higher for summer blockbusters and other superhero movies alike.
