AFM News: Wall Street Thriller Margin Call, Starring Quinto and Spacey, Sells Multiple Territories

Rookie feature director J.C. Chandor's Wall Street thriller Margin Call, starring an ensemble including Kevin Spacey, Jeremy Irons, Stanley Tucci, Demi Moore, Mary McDonnell, Simon Baker and in the lead as a risk analyst, Zachary Quinto (who also produced), closed multiple deals at the recent American Film Market. Film sales company Myriad showed a new promo of the film, which follows a group of high-flying players at an investment bank during the 24 hours leading up to the 2008 market crash. It is in post-production.

Quinto, Neal Dodson and Corey Moosa produced through their company Before The Door Pictures. Benaroya Pictures' Michael Benaroya and Robert Ogden Barnum are also producing with Joe Jenckes. Cassian Elwes, Laura Rister and Myriad's Kirk D’Amico are executive producers.

GOON - currently shooting in Canada, the action/comedy stars Seann William Scott, Jay Baruchel, Eugene Levy and Liev Schreiber.

GOOD NEIGHBOURS – A thriller directed by The Trotsky’s Jacob Tierney, starring Scott Speedman and Jay Baruchel and produced by Kevin Tierney. The film had its World Premiere at the 2010 Toronto International Film Festival.

THE CUP – Based on the true story of Australian jockey Damien Oliver’s triumphant win at the 2002 Melbourne Cup, The Cup stars Brendan Gleeson, Stephen Curry and Daniel McPherson, and is directed by Simon Wincer (Free Willy, “Lonesome Dove”). Myriad will be showing buyers a promo for the first time.

ELEKTRA LUXX – Carla Gugino, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Timothy Olyphant, Malin Akerman, Emmanuelle Chriqui, Adrianne Palicki, Marley Shelton and Kathleen Quinlan star in this comedy about a porn star who decides to return to civilian life. Sebastian Gutierrez directs. The film will be released theatrically in the U.S. by Goldwyn Films and on DVD by Sony Pictures Home Entertainment in 2011.
