The inaugural edition of the Baja International Film Festival has lined up eighty films. The fest, which will run November 14-17 in Los Cabos, Mexico, will feature five international feature premieres, five Mexican features, seven Special Presentation screenings and much more. Awards and cash prizes will be given for Best International Feature, Mexican Feature, Int'l Doc, Mexican Doc, Int'l Short and Mexican Short at a ceremony on the closing day.

The venue for the majority of screenings, panels and events is the Los Cabos Convention Center, complete with solar panels and the latest environmental technology.

The festival will also feature the Mexico-USA Film Forum on November 16, in which industry pros from Mexico and the USA will exchange ideas on how to strengthen the relationship between the two markets. A film fund to support Mexican projects and filmmakers will also be announces on November 16.

Among the festival's free screening offerings at the Cultural Pavilion Amphitheater in Cabo San Lucas and the Plaza Mijares in San Jose Del Cabo is DreamWorks' "Rise of the Guardians."

Festival programmer Eva Sangiorgi states, "It was important for us to find a balance between our Mexican and international programming, to truly represent Mexico’s new wave of innovative filmmakers, while also highlighting the groundbreaking films being produced in the U.S. and across the world."
