"How to Catch a Monster," which Gosling and Hendricks describe as a fantasy noir, centers on a mother who is trying to protect her two sons and ends up working in a fetish club. One of her sons discovers a secret underwater town and descends into the darkness, with her following him. Those are pretty vague plot details and Mendelsohn's role is unclear, but we do know the film stars shooting in May after Hendricks wraps the latest season of "Mad Men."
Mendelsohn also worked with Gosling in Derek Cianfrance's "The Place Beyond the Pines" (March 29, 2013) and has a small but memorable role in "Killing Them Softly" (November 30, 2012).
Hendricks tells us about "How to Catch a Monster" in our AFI FEST red carpet coverage below:

This film sounds amazing! So amazing, in fact, that I actually made a video expressing my desire to work on the film as a production assistant. I ask that you please watch and share this video in hopes of it getting in front of Ryan Gosling's eyes. Thanks so much! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wtvZL5r_hJA&list=HL1355457545&feature=mh_lolz
