The 57th BFI London Film Festival will run from October 9-20, 2013. The fest is now accepting submissions, and will announce the full lineup in September.

Last year's festival boasted 227 features and 111 shorts, including 13 world premieres. Tim Burton's "Frankenweenie" opened the fest, Mike Newell's "Great Expectations" closed, and later Oscar contenders "Argo," "Amour," "Beasts of the Southern Wild" and "Silver Linings Playbook" also screened. 57 countries were represented in the final program.

The 2012 edition drew a record attendance of 151,000 audience members.
