It's a big indie news week. The Gotham Awards are Monday night; indieWIRE will live-blog from backstage. I'm opting to attend a screening of a highly anticipated year-end release so that I can write about it for a Wednesday embargo.

Tuesday the Indie Spirits announce their nominations at 8 AM Pacific (announcers are Jeremy Renner and Eva Mendes). The webcast will stream live from the London Hotel West Hollywood via Livestream. (Facebook users can log into their accounts, go to this page, and hit the Facebook share button.) The streaming player is below.

Wednesday, the first Sundance competition line-up will be announced at 1 PM Pacific, followed on Thursday by the non-competition films. Also on Thursday, the National Board of Review will announce its top ten, a bellwether of the award season race to come.
