Hollywood Elsewhere's Jeff Wells is championing Strand's Tyrannosaur and star Olivia Colman to such a degree that he has taken it upon himself to raise cash for a screening. He's soliciting PayPal funds for a screening room, and the dollars are pouring in.
"I don't think any columnist in the history of Hollywood has ever tried to raise money to help others see a film (and particularly a performance) that he admires that the film's distributor won't or can't pay for," Wells wrote me. "I've got about $850 so far. (The drive began yesterday.) I need at least $1500, but $2000 would be better. Screening room rentals aren't cheap."
