HBO has picked up both Terence Winter's "Boardwalk Empire" and David Simon's "Treme" for third seasons.

Prohibition-era "Boardwalk Empire" will make its third season debut on Sunday, September 16. The Golden Globe winning series starring Steve Buscemi and Kelly McDonald is slated for twelve episodes.

"Treme," Simon's seldom mentioned follow-up to what many consider the greatest TV-series of all time, "The Wire," launches its ten-episode third season on Sunday, September 23.
