Julianne Moore has joined the cast of "The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Parts 1 and 2." She will play President Alma Coin, who leads the rebellion against the Capitol.
Moore, who has been nominated for an impressive four Oscars ("Boogie Nights," "The Hours," "The End of the Affair" and "Far from Heaven") joins recent Oscar winner Jennifer Lawrence ("Silver Linings Playbook"), who of course stars as archer extraordinaire Katniss Everdeen. Josh Hutcherson and Liam Hemsworth are also on board for the series' third and fourth installments, which are slated for release in November 2014 and November 2015, respectively.
In the immediate pipeline, Moore has Joseph Gordon-Levitt's directorial debut "Don Jon" (September 27), and Kimberly Peirce's remake of "Carrie" (October 18), starring Chloe Moretz. In 2014, among other titles, she'll be seen in David Cronenberg's "Maps to the Stars," starring Robert Pattinson and Mia Wasikowska.
"The Hunger Games: Catching Fire" hits theaters November 22 of this year. Watch the most recent trailer here.
