Kathryn Bigelow's untitled Bin Laden project has landed a mighty fine cast: Joel Edgerton is now confirmed, along with Jessica Chastain, Edgar Ramirez and Mark Strong. Other names had been tossed in the mix, but none are confirmed (Tom Hardy, Jennifer Ehle, Guy Pearce, Idris Elba and Nina Arianda; Rooney Mara's too busy doing "Dragon Tattoo" press).  The film, about the Seal Team 6 that killed Osama bin Laden, is set to begin shooting next month.

Meanwhile, the Pentagon is investigating Bigelow and screenwriter Mark Boal in hopes to answer the question, "Did the Obama administration release classified information to Hollywood notables for a film about the operation that killed Osama bin Laden?" While in the process of writing the script (which was about the search for Bin Laden in 2001), Boal needed to rework the story once Bin Laden was actually found and killed. Expect controversy through production and the film's release--something that is usually not bad for box office.  ThePlaylist has more from Edgerton. (TOH spoke to him for the woefully underappreciated "Warrior.")
