- James Gandolfini is in talks to join Steve Carell and Jim Carrey in Burt Wonderstone. Carell plays a burned out magician, Carrey plays his flashier rival, and Gandofini will play the owner of the Las Vegas casino where Carell works. 30 Rock's Don Scardino is directing from a script rewritten by Jason Reitman. UPDATE: Olivia Wilde has won the female lead (Carell's love interest), and Steve Buscemi (Wonderstone's friend and partner) is on board as well.

- The Coens' Inside Llewyn Davis, about the 1960s Greenwich village folk music scene, is shaping up with Carey Mulligan, Oscar Isaac, Coen favorite John Goodman and possibly Justin Timberlake, whose weekend movie In Time just tanked--but the guy does boast some musical chops and doesn't have to carry this. Shame's Mulligan will get to use her pipes again, and rejoins Isaacs (who played Mulligan's husband in Drive) as real life folk singer Dave van Ronk, the lead role. The final cast will come together to shoot in the Big Apple in February.

- We'll watch Mads Mikkelson, who is gaining recognition as an international star, in anything. Next up is The Hunt, which is about to start shooting in Denmark with director Thomas Vintenberg (The Celebration, It's All About Love, Dear Wendy; co-founder of the Dogme 95 movement with Lars von Trier). Co-written by Vintenberg and Tobias Lindholm (Submarino), the script follows Mikkelson as a recently divorced small town man accused of abusing a small child. The film will co-star Susse Wold, Thomas Bo Larsen, Lars Ranthe and Anne Louise Hassing, each of whom have lengthy Danish resumes.
