Which of the six studio presentations at CinemaCon were represented by their chairmen? One could argue that the ones who most wanted to be identified with their slates, to OWN them if you will, were the ones who showed up.

CinemaCon in 3-D: Scorsese and Ang Lee and Oscar Contender 'Life of Pi'

At this point, the folks at Twentieth Century Fox don't need to promote Ridley Scott's "Prometheus." So co-chairmen Tom Rothman and Jim Gianopulos ran through the summer and fall slates--diverse, something for everyone, etc--and saved the big guns for something new they hadn't promoted before: Ang Lee's 3-D epic "Life of Pi" (November 21).

Pixar is Star of Disney CinemaCon Panel; Screens Half Hour of 'Brave,' Announces New Film and Dates

At a time when Disney is undergoing management turmoil, Pixar stole the Disney thunder at a very long show-and-tell at CinemaCon. Pixar/Disney Animation czar John Lasseter screened the glorious first half hour of "Brave" (June 22), which will surely prove a summer blockbuster and showed stunning footage for "Finding Nemo" in 3-D.
