SIFF Virgin Diary 2: Spacek Talks Malick, Loretta Lynn & 'Carrie'; Kassovitz's 'Rebellion' and 'The Exorcist'

SIFF honored Sissy Spacek with their Outstanding Achievement in Acting Award and held a tribute evening in her honor. Time critic Richard Corliss led the nearly two hour Q & A with Spacek, covering everything from her upbringing in Texas to what she grows on her farm in Virginia. "Grass," she said, but "not that kind of grass!"

LA Film Fest Announces Jurors, Includes Director Robert Townsend, Actress Rachel Harris, Critic Sheri Linden

The Los Angeles Film Festival has announced the jurors for its narrative and documentary competitions. Director Robert Townsend ("Hollywood Shuffle," "The Five Heartbeats"), actress Rachel Harris ("Natural Selection," "Diary of a Wimpy Kid" franchise) and LA Times and Hollywood Reporter film critic Sheri Linden are among the names selected for the festival's jury. Seattle Film Festival Virgin Diary 1

The Seattle Film Festival has been going since May 17, so I'll be arriving a bit late to the party Thursday afternoon. The country's longest festival wraps up this Sunday, and I've been watching screeners in Los Angeles to prepare myself. Large and local, this festival offers cinephiles plenty of riches.

UCLA 2012 TFT Film Festival Screens Selected Student Films

The UCLA School of Theater, FIlm & Television's 2012 UCLA TFT Film Festival will honor their Alumnus of the Year, filmmaker Julie Dash, and screen selected student films which will be given awards in a variety of categories, as chosen by their peers. Best Dressed at Cannes 2012: Chastain, Kruger, Cotillard, Bejo & Watts

It must be easier to get attention for a hideous dress than a knockout one at Cannes, which accounts for all the fashion disasters. But these ladies lit up the red carpet - some of them more than once. Juror Diane Kruger, Jessica Chastain, Marion Cotillard, Naomi Watts and Berenice Bejo are our Best Dressed of the festival. In the men's department, it's a very close tie between Ewan McGregor and Bill Murray.
