"In order to fight monsters, we created monsters of our own," he says. Idris Elba, Rinko Kikuchi, Charlie Day and Ron Pearlman also star in the Warner Bros. tentpole, due in theaters July 12. Tellingly, the film marks up-and-comer Gleeson's first leading role; the actor has previously shone in supporting roles in the "Harry Potter" franchise (as Bill Weasley), "Anna Karenina" and "Never Let Me Go." It also marks McAdams return to time-traveling lovers, following 2009's "The Time Traveler's Wife."
