Matthew Modine Kickstarts 'Full Metal Jacket' Audio Diary on Working with Stanley Kubrick (Exclusive)

Matthew Modine is reaching back to the glory days of Stanley Kubrick's stark masterpiece of war from 1987, "Full Metal Jacket." With help from producing partner Adam Rakoff, Modine, now working comfortably in indie film and TV, has launched a Kickstarter campaign for "Full Metal Jacket Diary," an immersive audiobook adapted from his 2005 book of the same name.

A new trailer has arrived for Lukas Moodysson's wonderful 1982-set coming-of-age comedy "We Are the Best!," following three pre-teen girls' attempts to start up a punk band. While Moodysson has been nothing if not experimental with tone, subject and setting in his recent films, "We Are the Best!" recalls the offbeat humor and heart of "Show Me Love" and "Together."

Hiddleston, Swinton, Jarmusch Talk Vampires in Must-See Romance 'Only Lovers Left Alive' (VIDEOS)

"Only Lovers Left Alive" took seven years to make (at one point Michael Fassbender was attached) and both Swinton and John Hurt stuck with the project, which was finally funded in the U.K., France, Cyprus and Germany at $7 million. "It took a very, very long time," Jarmusch said, "and it’s getting more and more difficult for films that are maybe a little unusual or maybe not predictable or not satisfying people’s expectations of something -- which is the beauty of cinema: discovering new things of all forms."
