Guillermo Del Toro Talks the Horror and Romance of 'Crimson Peak' at Comic-Con

Guillermo del Toro, who's become quite the Comic-Con fixture, hugging fanboys and journos alike, admits that his gothic horror-romance, "Crimson Peak" (Oct. 16, 2015), is the biggest movie he's ever made. "Not only the scope is bigger, but I'm going to use a word that I don't normally touch, and that's ambition. 'Easy Riders, Raging Bulls' Author Peter Biskind Looks Back at the New Hollywood

Excess – fueled by fame, fortune and self-serving, often-destructive behavior -- often goes hand in hand with success, especially in the movie biz. Few film history books proved that as well as “Easy Rider, Raging Bulls: How the Sex-Drugs-and-Rock ‘n’ Roll Generation Saved Hollywood."

Debra Granik on the Demand for the Salacious, "for fast, cheap and out of control"

Filmmaker Debra Granik earned an impressive four Oscar nominations for 2010's "Winter's Bone," including best picture, actress (Jennifer Lawrence), supporting actor (John Hawkes) and adapted screenplay. The question was what the deliberate New York filmmaker would do next. I sat down with Granik to get her to take me through that decision-making process.
