IN THE WORKS: Endgame and FilmDistrict To Partner on Pastor Brothers Sci-Fi Thriller 'Selfless'

Producer/financeer Endgame Entertainment and indie distributor FilmDistrict have acquired the rights to “Selfless,” a sci-fi script by Spanish writer-directors Álex and David Pastor (“Carriers”).  Endgame Entertainment's James D. Stern and FilmDistrict’s Peter Schlessel will produce with Ram Bergman, who produced Rian Johnson’s “Looper” and “The Brothers Bloom" (Summit), both backed by Endgame ("An Education," "Every Little Step"), which will co-finance with the film's stateside distributor FilmDistrict.

Warner Bros. Launches Digital Imprint 'Inside the Script': Read 'Casablanca' and 'North by Northwest'

Film buffs rejoice. As the publishing industry copes with its transition to a digital Ebook universe, one of Hollywood's major movie studios is getting into digital publishing. Warner Bros. Digital Distribution (WBDD) is launching “Inside the Script,” offering movie fans the chance to own enhanced copies of classic film scripts.

KiD CuDi Samples "Attack the Block" in his Latest Track, Plus "Hunger Games" Anthem

Smooth hip-hop stylist  KiD CuDi samples lines from the 2011 British sci-fi comedy "Attack the Block" in his latest track "Hook Me Up With Some More of This Whiskey."  The movie's fast and funny style matches nicely with CuDi's sound (listen and download here).  KiD CuDi also appears on the soundtrack for "The Hunger Games" (listen below).  The intense song "The Ruler & the Killer" masterfully blends CuDi's distinctive sound with the movie.  Our ears are perked for more cinema collaborations from the singer.

Is Sean Penn Heading to Cannes with 'Gangster Squad'?

A tweeter purporting to be Cannes Fest Director Thierry Fremaux tweeted (en francais) that Sean Penn is coming to Cannes, spurring buzz that his film, Ruben Fleischer's "The Gangster Squad," in which he stars with Josh Brolin, Ryan Gosling, Emma Stone, Mireille Enos, Michael Pena, Anthony Mackie and Nick Nolte, will be added to the fest program.

Coming to Theaters This May: 1964 'The Beatles: The Lost Concert'

Screenvision presents "The Beatles: The Lost Concert," a new documentary featuring the first Fab Four concert in the U.S. as its centerpiece. The concert at D.C.'s Washington Coliseum is the only complete Beatles’ concert available to fans; its footage hasn't been seen by movie theater audiences across the nation for over 47 years.
