Casting Watch: UK's Finest Rylance to Play Ruthless Tudor Advisor Cromwell in BBC-HBO Adaptation of Mantel Bestseller 'Wolf Hall'

In a casting coup, Brit Mark Rylance, one of the greatest Shakespeare thespians of our time, will play statesman Thomas Cromwell in a BBC-HBO adaptation of Hilary Mantel's bestsellers "Wolf Hall" and "Bring Up the Bodies." (Mantel got slammed recently for calling out the media's handling of such royal femmes as Kate Middleton.) Peter Straughan, who garnered an Oscar nod for co-penning 2011's "Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy," is set to direct the six-part mini-series.

Magnolia Grabs Shelton's Sundance Entry 'Touchy Feely' For the World

Magnolia Pictures is back in business with Seattle auteur Lynn Shelton, buying world rights for her fifth feature, the well-acted relationship comedy "Touchy Feely," which debuted at January's Sundance Film Festival. Magnolia released her 2009 breakout comedy "Humpday," starring Mark Duplass, who co-starred with DeWitt in Shelton's last film, "Your Sister's Sister."

First Look: Fashionista Cate Blanchett in Woody Allen's 'Blue Jasmine'

The first released image from Woody Allen's latest annual film, "Blue Jasmine," shows fashionable Manhattan housewife Cate Blanchett looking a tad malaise-stricken. Per usual the upscale comedy boasts a sprawling ensemble cast, including returning "To Rome with Love" star Alec Baldwin as a man in crisis, Peter Sarsgaard, Andrew Dice Clay, Bobby Cannavale, Michael Stuhlbarg and Louis C.K.

'Kon-Tiki' to Hit Theaters in English-Language Version, Riding Tide of Scandinavian Film Popularity

With Norway's Oscar-nominated "Kon-Tiki" hitting theaters on April 19, the Weinstein Company is opting to release the film's English-language version stateside, to maximize interest and attempt to elevate the film from the subtitled ghetto that keeps most foreign titles' box office in check. As pointed out in Variety, the seafaring adventure film may be the first of the Academy's nominees to be shot scene-for-scene in two languages.

Relativity Producing Pablo Escobar Story 'Silver or Lead' with Spanish Director Enrique Urbizu

Relativity Media has taken rights to a script about the manhunt for cocaine kingpin Pablo Escobar, called "Silver or Lead." The original draft is from Michael Kane, while Piers Ashworth's screenplay will serve as the basis for director Enrique Urbizu.
