Marketing Watch: 'Frankenweenie' E-Book Free on iTunes

Disney's promo materials on Tim Burton's "Frankenweenie" have been innovative and choice. Their latest offering is a content-rich e-book tie-in. "Frankenweenie: An Electrifying Book" provides a behind-the-scenes examination of the world of the original 1984 short film that inspired the upcoming feature length production. Helen Mirren Continues Her Reign in 'The Audience,' Reprises Role of Elizabeth II for the Stage

Helen Mirren will be The Queen again, but this time on stage in "The Audience," a new play by Peter Morgan focusing on Queen Elizabeth II's relationship with the 12 different prime ministers who serve during her epic reign. Mirren's top-notch career doesn't seem to be flagging a bit, with news yesterday that "Hitchcock," in which she stars as Hitch's wife and discerning collaborator Alma Reville, will be an Oscar contender.

Bollywood Goes IMAX for First Time with 2013 Release of 'Dhoom:3'

Bollywood action-thriller "Dhoom: 3" will be digitally remastered and released in IMAX throughout India in winter of 2013, marking the country's first local-language production to be released in the larger-than-life format.

Tribeca Film Acquires Goya Winner and Fantastic Fest Entry 'No Rest for the Wicked'

Tribeca Film has picked up North American rights to the Spanish noir "No Rest for the Wicked," which won six 2012 Goya Awards (Spain's equivalent to the Oscars), including Best Film. The film is currently playing at Fantastic Fest.

Netflix's Ted Sarandos Talks Original Programming

It is not news that chief content officer of Netflix Ted Sarandos is on the hunt for original programming for the content site, competing for content with the likes of HBO snd Showtime. That's why the DVD rental site, which has been making the transition to online streaming, chased down David Fincher's high-price series starring Kevin Spacey based on the British series "House of Cards."

IFC Films Lands Baumbach's Black-and-White Gerwig Vehicle 'Frances Ha'

IFC Films is acquiring all North and Latin American rights to Noah Baumbach’s "Frances Ha," which the filmmaker co-wrote with his star and muse, Mumblecore darling Greta Gerwig. She has received glowing reviews for the film, which debuted at Telluride followed by Toronto and now, New York. Mickey Sumner, Adam Driver and Michael Zegen co-star.

Internet Lobby Forms in DC: Facebook, Google, Amazon Join Up

It was an inevitable alliance. Silicon Valley pillars will join together in Washington to form a lobbying group in order to oppose federal restrictions to their industry. A group like this is the first in the Web's history. Called 'The Internet Association,' the roster includes Facebook, Google, Yahoo, LinkedIn, Zynga, and Amazon.
