It's Official: Lynton Moves Up to Run Sony Corporation of America In Addition to Sony Pictures Entertainment

Respected Sony veteran exec Michael Lynton is moving up to chair Sony Corporation of America. The news broke last week in the Financial Times and New York Times; Lynton will continue as chairman/CEO of Sony Pictures Entertainment. (The official release is pasted below.)

Anglophile Acorn Media is 28 and Profitable, Growing and Getting Into Production

From little acorns massive oaks grow might apply to Acorn Media, which was started in its chairman’s spare bedroom in 1984. This week, Peter Edwards, the chairman, told the New York Times that Acorn believes it is the second largest distributor of British programming on DVD in North America, bested only by the BBC.

Perennial Sofia Coppola muse Kirsten Dunst and rocker Gavin Rossdale have been spotted on the L.A. set of the writer-director's currently filming "The Bling Ring." "Mad Men" Creator Matthew Weiner's Directorial Debut 'You Are Here' Stars Owen Wilson

"Mad Men" creator Matthew Weiner has chosen a project for his feature film debut. He wrote and will direct relationship comedy "You Are Here," which will start shooting in May in North Carolina with funnymen Owen Wilson ("Midnight in Paris") and Zach Galifianakis ("The Hangover").
