In EW's Holiday Movie Preview, actors from several hot titles speak out on their roles, including Jessica Chastain on the mysterious "Zero Dark Thirty," Bradley Cooper in the feel-good festival favorite "Silver Linings Playbook," Daniel Day-Lewis' method acting during "Lincoln" and Hugh Jackman on why the epic "Les Miserables" is still relevant.

Of "Les Miserables," in theaters December 14, star Hugh Jackman says, “We’re not making some Masterpiece Theater show. This is not just some period movie. This is something that’s relevant. Classic literature, classic stories like Les Miserables stick around for a reason."

On his "Silver Linings Playbook" (November 21) role breaking him out of a bad "Hangover," Bradley Cooper says, “I’ve become aware that there was a little bit of ‘He’s not really an actor—he’s just the guy from 'The Hangover.' I guess people were surprised that that’s the same guy."

We now know that last year's breakout darling Jessica Chastain has a (if not the) central role in Kathryn Bigelow's "Zero Dark Thirty" (December 19). She says, “You really see the drive and the journey that this woman takes, and you see her unravel."

"Lincoln" (November 8) screenwriter Tony Kushner recalls the film's star, Daniel Day-Lewis, telling him, "‘I hope it’s not going to upset you when we stop speaking when this starts.’ I asked why. And he said, ‘I’m really only going to be able to have a conversation at that point with Steven,’ because he gets so deep into the part.”

Here are trailers for "Les Miserables," "Silver Linings Playbook," "Zero Dark Thirty" and "Lincoln."
