The Hero Complex reports that Frank Miller has completed his 300 comic book prequel, Xerxes. The graphic novel will be released in six installments and follows Xerxes' search for deification. The film presupposes the existence of gods and magic... so expect more gold-pierced escapism. 300 director Zack Snyder has expressed interest in adapting the work to the screen. After the not-so-hot Spirit, this presents the perfect opportunity for Miller to reclaim 300's blockbuster success. In all likelihood, Iran will not be pleased.

Jon Favreau revealed on LA's KROQ show that Iron Man will neither appear in Captain America nor Thor. Robert Downey Jr.'s Thor set visit fired up fanboy speculation, but Favreau has dealt the death blow to fanboy hopes. He said that the films' stories will branch off before reuniting their disparate characters in The Avengers Could be budget concerns, or maybe Marvel is looking for Thor and Captain America to strike their own franchise gold rush.

Speaking of Captain America, Joblo has confirmed concept art for Captain America's big-screen threads: call it carbon-fiber, skin tight patriotism. More pictures here.
