- Fernando Meirelles (The Constant Gardener, City of God, 360 in the works) plans to direct a biopic of Aristotle Onassis, adapted for the screen by his City of God scripter Bráulio Mantovani, based on Peter Evans’s best-selling book Nemesis: The True Story of Aristotle Onassis, Jackie O, and the Love Triangle That Brought Down the Kennedys.

The film, thankfully, will simply be titled Onassis, and will focus on the Greek shipping tycoon's relationship with Robert Kennedy, not his second marriage -- to Jackie Kennedy -- for which he is better known (pictured together). As Vulture describes it:

"As attorney general, Bobby had investigated Onassis’s sketchy international business practices and banned him from trading with the U.S., and Evans wrote that their rivalry over control of and access to Jackie culminated in Onassis’s alleged financing of the assassination of the presidential hopeful."

- "We're here for such a short period of time. Live like you're already dead, man. Have a good time. Do your best. Let it all come ripping right through you." That's what Jeff Bridges tells Esquire in their May Music Issue (landing shortly). It features the Oscar-winner (pictured) being awesome. He is releasing a new album in August ("or thereabouts"), and performs a preview for Esquire writer Chris Jones: "Bridges continues to strum away on his guitar, and now he's belting it out, loud and unashamed, and his smile is sincere and wide. He is singing with his friend about love, love, love, and not one ounce of him is acting. Jeff Bridges has never acted a day in his life, at least not since he was a kid afraid of the dark. He only believes." UPDATE: Here's the LAT story on his new record deal.

- Check out HBO's Luck featurette below. The horse racing series stars Dustin Hoffman, with a pilot directed by Michael Mann and a killer supporting cast: Joan Allen, Michael Gambon and Nick Nolte.
