Dujardin & Bejo in "The Artist"

Film Independent has picked the date for its 28th annual Indie Spirit Awards: February 23, 2013. The show will air on IFC.

They are accepting submissions beginning today, August 14, with a regular deadline of September 18 and a final deadline of October 16. Nominations will be announced November 27. Submission guidelines and the submission form are available here.

Last year's winners include "The Artist" (Best Film, Director, Actor, Cinematography), "Margin Call" (Best First Feature, Robert Altman Award), "Pariah" (John Cassavetes Award), "The Descendants" (Best Screenplay), "A Separation" (Best Foreign Film) and "The Interrupters" (Best Documentary).
